The Fraternity and Sorority community is comprised of six governing councils, the Interfraternity Council, the Panhellenic Association, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations, the Multicultural Greek Council, and the Professional Fraternity Council.
Interfraternity Council - The NIC serves to advocate the needs of its member fraternities through enrichment of the fraternity experience; advancement and growth of the fraternity community; and enhancement of the educational mission of the host institutions.
Panhellenic Council - The National Panhellenic Conference will be the premier advocacy and support organization for its members, member groups, college and alumnae panhellenics and a proponent of women’s fraternity membership.
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) - The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is a collaborative organization of nine historically African American, international Greek lettered fraternities and sororities. The nine NPHC organizations are sometimes collectively referred to as the "Divine Nine.
National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) - NALFO is an umbrella council for Latino Greek Letter Organizations. The purpose of NALFO is to promote and foster positive interfraternal relations, communication, and development of all Latino Fraternal organizations through mutual respect, leadership, honesty, professionalism and education.
Multicultural Greek Council - The purpose of MGC is to provide a fraternity and sorority option that basis its membership on diversity awareness. MGC strives to enhance and enrich its members by promoting cross-cultural options.
The Professional Fraternity Council - The mission of the PFC is to promote professional, academic, and community service involvement of the wider Syracuse University Campus through events that showcase the excellence and intellectual diversity of the Syracuse University student body.
